Win Amp Listen Live Help

If you are having difficulty listening to BOB FM online, there are several reasons that this could happen:
  • You are not using the latest version of WinAmp. Click here to download the latest version. Note: You do NOT have to purchase the full version of WinAmp to listen to the feed.

  • If you have the Thomson MP3 Pro plug-in installed and enabled in Winamp. You will not be able to hear the stream unless you enable a workaround. To do this, go to Options-->Preferences-->Plug-ins-->Input. Highlight "THOMSON mp3PRO Decoder" then click Configure. In the General tab, deselect "Enable (use mp3PRO Decoder for all mp3 files)." Click "OK" then "Close" and retry the listen link.

  • Too many people are currently listening online. If you receive an error message stating that too many connections are in use, please try again later. We have to limit the number of people who can listen online so that the audio quality can remain at an acceptable peak.

  • Mac users: Winamp is not supported by Mac, you may find a download of VLC to be useful, get it here.

  • Firewalls are also known to cause some problems with getting this feed. If you are running a personal firewall product configure it to allow port 8000 to pass. If you are on a corporate LAN, you may need to use your proxy server to get the feed. To check your proxy settings, in Internet Explorer go to Tools --> Internet Options. Click the “Connections” tab. Near the bottom, click the button for “LAN Settings.” A new window will appear; look for the proxy settings listed in the bottom field. Copy those settings down. Open Winamp, go to Options --> Preferences. In the box underneath “(optional) Specify HTTP proxy address: '(user:password@)server:port”, put in the server name, and the port separated by a colon (example: proxy.mycompany.com:3128).
If you are still having trouble, please email the webmaster.
